Le Lion D'Angers World Young Horse Championship 19th October.
I would love to say that it was an easy trip out to France for Sammi but it started to go wrong right from the point when she realised she would be away for at least 2 weeks, ordered an on line shop in a fit of efficiency and then they did not deiiver so Sammi ended up flogging off to Tescos/ Sainsburys herself. That really is the pits, when you actually get organised and then the shop lets you down.
Anyway, moving swiftly on, Sammi and the mightly The Kincooley Ceili ( William) did make it to Le Lion with Hels and Charlie Birch and a new NZ recruit who is sort of acting nanny. As soon as I have this angels name I will impart it... but despite Sammi's worries that her sleeping disorder ( man, she sleeps allot) would be a hindrance Hels kept her awake for the overnight journey.
Sam then got an early draw which can sometimes be an advantage at Le Lion if it rains and a score of 50.4 leaves them inside the top 10 at the end of day 1. I think the overiding sensation of Williams's test today was babyish... he is a big dork... he tried.. lost focus..tried.. he spooked at the flowers at A after he had passed them 10 times.. baby stuff. He did some super canter work and coped with his first ever international proper super stuff! Be proud!
